TOMORROW at 10 AM: Vigil for those killed by ICE and protest ICE invasion

Just two weeks ago, we came together for a solemn “funeral procession" on the grounds of the Marin County Civic Center. Today, January 24, another person was killed by ICE in Minneapolis.

Say his name: Alex Pretti. Say all their names.

Tomorrow, Sunday, 2/25, at 10 AM, we will gather to line the sidewalks at the Civic Center in front of the Farmers' Market. While no procession is planned at this time, that may change. Please RSVP so that organizers can plan for the anticipated crowd size. REGISTER HERE

Signs and placards with the name of the dead will be available. We encourage people to bring their own signs. We will begin to spread out from the entrance to the farmers market which is closest to the Civic Center. (That is the free speech area.)

All Marin protests are no-host events. Individual organizers/groups are facilitating an opportunity for residents to peacefully and safely assemble in line with their First Amendment rights. A core principle behind all protest events is a commitment to nonviolent action. All participants should seek to de-escalate any potential confrontations and also agree to assume 100% responsibility for their own safety, conduct and well-being.

If you are unable to attend, please consider taking the action below, led by faith communities in Minnesota, at 7 PM in whatever time zone you are in. Step outside and light a candle — on our street corners, with our neighbors, for our communities & Alex. Together we call for #ICEOutNow.
