We need to have a frank conversation.
Please consider the following facts:
We are in a national emergency with a fascist president whose authoritarian and destructive actions must be stopped.
Winning control of the House in November is the only way to considerably blunt Trump's power to further destroy our country.
Winning the House in November is NOT A GIVEN due to gerrymandering, changes to campaign finance laws by the GOP-aligned SOCTUS, and the fact that Trump and his accomplices will do all they can, which is a lot, to cheat, disrupt and overturn free and fair elections.
The only sure way for Dems to win the House in November is MASSIVE TURNOUT so that the results cannot be called into question. And the only way to achieve massive turnout is through MASSIVE VOTER OUTREACH WORK BY VOLUNTEERS. YOU.
Now consider three more facts:

On June 28th, IndiMarin introduced TURNOUT TO WIN, a strategic, impact-driven campaign to TAKE BACK CONGRESS in November and put a structural block on Trump. We asked our volunteers to join the TURNOUT TO WIN Team by committing to 17+ hours of voter outreach work between now and November 3. Not a big ask.
To date, 136 out of 12,000 volunteers have signed up for the TURNOUT TO WIN TEAM.
I am mystified and disappointed. What is not being understood? Why are so few of you willing to do a relatively minor amount of work to stop Trump? And if you are so unwilling to spend some of your time, why do you remain on the email list of an action-based volunteer group?
If by any chance you're thinking you'll wait, enjoy the summer and get involved in the fall, that's too late.
Summer is the most important time in the election cycle to make contact with our voters. With the primaries just behind us, voters are now aware of the November election and will start to see more activity in their social media feeds and the news. Voters usually decide who they are going to vote for during this time, and just as importantly, if they are going to vote at all. Once they make those decisions, they are unlikely to change their minds, regardless of what happens in our politics.
It is critical that as this early information starts coming in and voters are deciding, we are the strongest voice. The Party that leads in this early voter outreach will win. Research shows that turnout correlates with early and repeated voter contact by volunteers. Although in the past, voter outreach traditionally started in the fall, today's advanced campaign technology means we have the potential to contact many more voters when given a greater window of time. Now we can reach each voter multiple times, persuade more undecided voters, and identify supporters early. All of this means a wider GOTV reach and a higher election turnout. Waiting until September to start is too late. The other side will have made their pitch and voters will have already made their decisions.
I hope this email is a wake-up call. You may think I am being harsh. But I am trying to do everything in my power to save our country. The IndiMarin Steering Committee works very hard, many of us as full time volunteers, to create programs for action by all of you. We send out emails inviting you all to participate so that you have a path toward impact and contribution. These emails routinely get click rates of under 5%.
No one is coming to save us. And no one is coming to save our children or our grandchildren.
As Barack Obama said in a speech during his 2008 presidential campaign, "In the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can change it. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Our second TURNOUT Tuesday meeting in THIS Tuesday at 4 PM PT. All team members will be sent the link to sign up. The meeting is very optional but a good opportunity to connect with other like-minded and committed team members.
I hope that the number of TURNOUT TO WIN team members will surge based on this email. It's really now or never in the effort to stop Trump's authoritarian takeover of our country. Are you in?
