Winning the Senate
in 2026, the race to win the Senate will come down to voter turnout in eight races. Volunteer turnout equals voter turnout.
WHAT WE NEED TO DO: Dems currently hold 47 seats with three seats considered vulnerable: Georgia, New Hampshire and Michigan. Republicans hold 53 seats but the blue wave has made six vulnerable. To win, we need to hold those three seats and flip at least four Republican seats. With the current blue wave of enthusiasm and Democratic +10 pt overperformance in recent statewide elections, the Senate is within reach. Even adding a few seats would increase our chances of taking control in 2028.
OPTIONS FOR WHERE TO WORK: Battleground Senate states: AK, GA, IA, ME, MI, NC, NH, OH, TX
To distribute volunteers across the races, working in the state closest to you is best. If there isn’t a race close to you, we invite you to work with us. We will rotate rotate through all the campaigns over the course of 2026.
OPTIONS FOR HOW TO WORK: Note that all actions include complete training. NO EXPERIENCE needed!
If you can commit an average of 1+ hours a week between now and November, join the TURNOUT TO WIN Team. TURNOUT TO WIN Is a strategic, impact-driven campaign to TAKE BACK CONGRESS in November. As a benefit, you will receive early updates and motivating support from IndiMarin.
If you live in one of the nine battleground Senate states, sign up on the candidate’s website as a volunteer. They will alert you to their events and volunteer opportunities. Canvasses are especially important but each candidate has their distinct plan for local volunteers.
ME: pending nominating convention, date tba
MI: TBD August primary
NH: Chris Pappas (running unopposed; September primary)
PHONEBANKING - If you do not live in one of the nine states and/or want to volunteer remotely for a candidate, phonebanking is the most impactful action to take. Days and times will vary but please note the time zone! Some candidates have not begun phonebanks yet. Check back frequently for updates. Note: Senate phonebanks may coordinate with other statewide candidates.
Nervous about talking to voters? Attend this great Active Listening workshop on phonebanking basics. Note: it was offered in May prior to the primary
