With early voting beginning in Virginia on 9/18, just 35 days away, and other states following soon after, the midterm elections are just around the corner. These elections offer the only way to put real brakes on Trump’s reign of destruction. Yet, the number of volunteers doing voter outreach work is lower than previous election cycles. More volunteers are needed across all voter outreach tactics and phonebankers are needed in particular. Research shows that interactive conversations with voters have the highest impact.
Here in California where four “must-win” districts are the path to taking back the House, we have a crucial and short window of opportunity! If you are already doing as much voter outreach as your schedule allows, THANK YOU. If you haven't yet started or have room to increase your hours or to broaden to phonebanking, this coming week is a great time to step it up. Join a phonebank organized by the California Democratic Party. Training for new phonebankers is provided at every phonebank by supportive mentors. Join our TURNOUT TO WIN (TTW) Team by making a commitment to spend an average of just one hour per week on voter outreach. TTW Team members enjoy perks like weekly motivational team meetings (attendance is optional) as well as 1:1 or Small Group Phonebank training withe our VERY supportive mentors. Overall, TTW members receive extra support for their voter outreach efforts and have the opportunity to connect with other members who have made the same commitment.
