We are living through extraordinarily hard times. Every day brings a new crisis but at the same time, momentum is building towards an historic blue wave in the midterms. We saw record Democratic enthusiasm and turnout this week in the Texas primaries. Now that wave turns to Virginia and we need your help in a critical election there next month!

The courts have now cleared the path for a Virginia Special Election that will redraw their midterm congressional maps. Similar to Proposition 50 in California last year, new maps in Virginia must be approved by voters. These maps could add up to 4-5 seats for Democrats to counter pending new maps in Florida that will do the same for Republicans. The existing margin is thin and new maps in Virginia will keep the playing field even with no new net gain for either party, putting Democrats in a strong position to win the November midterms.

There are many ways to help in Virginia! The election is April 21st and early voting has already begun so every day and every voter is critical!

The only path to ensuring Congressional oversight of the Trump Administration and holding elected officials accountable to the constitution and rule of law is Democratic control of the House of Representatives. With that comes subpoena power and investigations, control of the budget, and impeachment proceedings. However, as in California last year, many voters in Virginia are skeptical of redrawing congressional districts mid-decade. There is less than 2 months to convince them what is as stake. Volunteers changed the minds of hundreds of thousands of voters in a short time in California, turning hesitation into a landslide victory. Those volunteers came from all over the country. IMPORTANT NOTE: For the many of you who have decided that phonebanking is not for you, PLEASE RECONSIDER. The technology has advanced significantly in recent years leading to more live conversations. This election, like Prop 50, involves a complex decision and many voters have questions and are unsure of how to vote. Personal, INTERACTIVE conversations can help inform voters, address their questions and are often VERY welcome by the voter. If you are uncomfortable on the phone with strangers, please consider how much MORE uncomfortable you will feel if Dems don't win back the House in November. Please stretch outside your comfort zone and give it a try!
