FOSTER Community with House Parties


A key question as we look to the future of America is how do Democrats help rebuild TRUST in our local communities? Increasingly our society is isolated, lonely and polarized. These attributes are unhealthy for all of us personally, and also create a world where disaffectation and misinformation flourish. Hosting House Parties is a way that each of us as individuals can help BUILD a better future while also helping grow the strength of the Democratic Party.

IndiMarin is piloting two types of House Parties and will provide training and support to volunteers hosts:

COMMUNITY CONNECTION HOUSE PARTIES

As we build a path toward regaining Democratic control of our government, we need to do something more and different to win. We need to rebuild trust in local communities through personal connections. Indivisible Marin is proud to be a pilot site for an innovative House Party program launched by our partner, the Bay Area Coalition. Training and support will be offered to all House Party hosts via this partnership.

  • The goals of Community Connection Parties are to foster friend and neighbor conversations about the political landscape with those who support our values, build community relationships and trusted messengers through our shared stories, expand our volunteer base, motivate people through values and move them to action.

  • Every house party is different! Your house party conversation can include story of self.  Or, yours may have a specific focus such as community action, candidates, local issues, building neighborhood community, recruiting more volunteers, or ANYTHING ELSE that you and your guests come up with!

POSTCARDING HOUSE PARTIES

  • A great way to build the Dem community and expand our voter base in advance of the 2026 midterms is to get our friends involved in voter outreach work! Hosting a postcarding party at your house provides a great opportunity to accomplish that objective. And IndiMarin will support you every step of the way!

  • Currently, we are writing postcards as part of Activate America’s “accountability campaign” which targets GOP Representatives’ support for cutting Medicaid programs. The goal is to peel off support for Trump while also influencing voters in competitive districts.
