Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice California - SF March

The Global Climate Action Summit is a gathering of mayors & local governments, business and civil society in San Francisco on September 12-14 2018. Its stated goal is to showcase climate action taking place around the world, and inspire deeper commitments from each other and from national governments. It will be the largest gathering of its kind to take place, and we believe it’s an opportunity to pressure local leaders to step up and do much more p To Matto stop the fossil fuel industry and build 100% renewable energy for all.

On 8-9 September we will rise together in our neighborhoods to take action, telling the story of the communities we want, and showing governments how to follow our lead. We’ll connect all our local efforts globally to help make an unstoppable wave of people’s climate leadership – from our town halls, to our schools, and places of worship.

Marin's "Families Belong Together" Vigil

Please RSVP to attend the vigil. Tickets are free but we need to have an accurate headcount.

In protest of the Trump Administration's cruel and inhumane policy of separating children from their parents at the border, the Marin community will gather for a vigil on World Refugee Day. Please join us as we come together in protest and song. We will hear from public officials, community leaders, and affected residents, and learn about opportunities for action. We will send you an email with the exact location as soon as possible.

Please bring signs as desired. Flameless candles will be provided to all participants.

We are coming together to demonstrate our opposition to this horrific new policy. Bring your families and tell your friends. Together we can bring an end to this practice that violates American values.

The vigil has been organized by local groups concerned about the administration’s immigration policies, including Indivisible Marin, Indivisible Sausalito, Marin County People Power, Novato Stands United, REsisters and SURJ Marin. Activist and faith-based groups across Marin have joined in support of this effort.

For more information, please contact familiestogether.marin@gmail.com.

Indivisible Marin's Benefit to Take Back Congress

Any veteran campaign strategist will tell you that knocking on doors is THE single most effective campaign tactic. But in a blue county like Marin, we have to hit the road to participate. To help more Marin residents do so, Indivisible Marin is hosting a Benefit and Silent Auction on June 3rd to raise funds to offer travel stipends to Marin volunteers who want to canvas in red districts. RSVP today to join us on June 3rd from 3 PM - 5:30 PM at the Corte Madera Community Center.

At the event, you can peruse and bid on auction items while socializing with friends in the Marin community over wine, cheese and live music. Our motivating keynote speaker, Donnie Fowler of Democracy Labs, will get us "fired up and ready to go" before we wrap up the afternoon by announcing which lucky bidders will take home a prize. It will be a fun event for a great cause!! We hope to see you there!

Wine & Sign: Postcarding to Flippable Districts

Join us for Indivisible Marin’s Wine & Sign event at Zinz Wine Bar at 207 Corte Madera Ave in Corte Madera!

https://www.zinzwinebar.com/home.html

We will meet, socialize and engage in participatory democracy by writing postcards to voters in flippable CA districts. Our immediate goal is to get out the vote for the June 5 primary and ensure that a progressive Democrat makes it onto the ballot for the November election in those districts.

All the supplies are provided for you - postage-paid postcards, colored pens & pencils, addresses and suggested messages (including bilingual). This is a FREE event, though donations toward the cost of the cards & postage are welcome and greatly appreciated!

In addition to a wide array of boutique wines, Zinz offers craft beers, non-alcoholic beverages, and small plate nibbles for purchase. Space is limited, so an RSVP is required via the link provided. No need to print or download tickets, your name will be added to the door list. For questions or to reach the host the day of the event, please email lauraflipblue@gmail.com.

We plan to host Wine & Sign parties every other Wednesday at Zinz and will soon be launching postcarding events in other Marin locations. Check back on the Indivisible Marin calendar for details!
